Western Province, Provincial Local Government Officer, Mr. Nixon Nkwapu, accompanied by the Zambia Devolution Support Program’s Principal Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Mss. Lipalile Kawana, recently visited Sikongo District to assess progress on the water project under implementation.

The Zambia Devolution Support Program is funding this K2,436,000 project, being implemented through a partnership between Sikongo Town Council and Western Water Solution via a Memorandum of Understanding, ensuring high-quality and professional delivery.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Sikongo Council, will supply and install a 70,000-liter water tank, while Western Water Solution handles piping and connections. The Council has so far, procured the tank and awaits delivery.

Upon completion, the project will improve water supply for about 10,000 Sikongo residents, addressing current challenges of water supply.

Mr. Nkwapu praised the Council for initiating the project and urged expedited work, emphasizing water supply’s critical need.
