Sikongo Town Council Chairperson, Kennedy Simbotwe, has implored elected public officers under Sikongo Town Council to ensure that they uphold and defend the constitution of Zambia in their conduct of duties.

Mr. Simbotwe says it is imperative that Councillors read and understand the Constitution as well as other regulations of Zambia that guide the operations of the Council such as the Local Government Act, Public Procurement Act and the CDF Act.

He said understanding these regulations will assist Councillors to offer proper checks and balances to the Executive Administration of the Town Council as it endeavours to deliver development in Sikongo District.

The Council Chairperson made these remarks during the swearing in ceremony of Nicholus Mubanga that took place on 14th july, following his election as Councillor in the Tuuwa ward by-election held on 26th June 2025.

The newly elected Councillor reafirmed his loyalty to all residents of his ward and pledged to work with all stakeholders commited to assisting developing Tuuwa and the District at large after taking oath before Council Secretary Dr. Felistus Shimwanga, who presided over the ceremony as Commissioner of Oaths.
