Sikongo Town Council on Friday – 30th May, 2025, held a grand commissioning ceremony for various Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects at Sitapa Primary School.
The ceremony was presided over by the District Commissioner (DC), Henry Mwalye, and was attended by local leaders, community members, and stakeholders.
The CDF projects commissioned in the district are a testament to the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Sikongo residents, among the projects commissioned include: newly constructed classroom blocks in various parts of the ward, equipped with desks which will enhance the learning environment for pupils in the district, Water and Sanitation Facilities for improved water and sanitation, Health posts, maternity wings, and mother’s shelters which will provide essential healthcare services to the community and improve access to medical care.
In his remarks, the DC emphasized the importance of these projects in addressing the development needs of the district. He urged the community to take ownership of the projects and ensure their sustainability.
The commissioning ceremony was marked by a sense of excitement and gratitude among the community members. Many expressed their appreciation for the government’s efforts in improving their lives and providing essential services.
The CDF projects commissioned yesterday are a significant step towards addressing the development challenges faced by Sikongo District. They demonstrate the government’s commitment to improving the lives of its citizens and promoting development in rural areas.
