SIKONGO CONSTITUENCY OFFICIALLY RECEIVES ITS CDF POLICE VEHICLE
On the afternoon of Thursday, December 7, 2023, Sikongo Constituency was among the 19 constituencies in Western Province to receive a police vehicle funded by the Constituency Development Fund.
The vehicle, procured under the 2023 CDF budget allocation, was officially handed over at the ceremony presided over by Mr. Simomo Akapelwa, the Permanent Secretary of Western Province, who represented the Provincial Minister, Mr. Kapelwa Mbangweta.
Meanwhile, Sikongo District Administration Officer (D.A.O), Mr. Kingsley Kalunga, expressed gratitude to the government and Sikongo Town Council for providing the new police vehicle. He emphasized that the vehicle will enhance security operations in the district and help curb crime, particularly in remote areas where transportation has been a challenge.
Mr. Kalunga further urged Sikongo Police Department to use the vehicle exclusively for police duties and not for personal errands. He also stressed the importance of regular maintenance to prolong the vehicle’s lifespan.
“This vehicle is a breakthrough for the Police Department as it will accelerate police duties and relieve the department of having to borrow vehicles from other departments during emergencies. I urge the Sikongo police to take care of this vehicle and ensure that it is regularly maintained, he stated.”.
